The New Testament Book of 2 Corinthians
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV

* CHAP * COMMENTS
* 1 * Paul & Timothy to the Church at Corinth. Blessed be God
who comforts us in all our tribulation. In Asia we despaired even of life. But
God delivered. I wanted to come unto you before now.
* 2 * I decided I would not come again to you in heaviness. I wrote to you
with many tears. Sufficient punishment has been inflicted to such
a man. Now confirm your love toward him. In Troas a door was opened
to preach, and I went into Macedonia. Thanks to God who causes us
triumph in Christ.
* 3 * Do we need letters from you - You are our letter. God has made us
ministers to the New Testament - not of the letter - but of the
spirit. Seeing that we have such hope we use plainness of speech --
Not as Moses who put a veil over his face. Where the spirit of the
Lord is -- there is liberty.
* 4 * If our gospel is hid, it is hid to the lost. We preach Christ, not
ourselves. This treasure is in earthen vessels. We are troubled but
not distressed. He that raised up Jesus will also raise us up by
Jesus. Our light affliction which is but for a moment works for us
an eternal weight of glory.
* 5 * If the earthly tabernacle we live in is destroyed, we have an eternal
house in heaven. We walk by faith, not by sight. We must all appear
before the judgment seat of Christ. We seek not to commend ourself
but to give opportunity to take pride in us. If any be in Christ
he is a new creature. He that knew no sin was made sin for us.
* 6 * Receive not God's grace in vain. Now is the day of salvation. Let's
approve ourselves as God's ministers in all things.Be not unequally
yoked with unbelievers. Come out from among them & be separate.
* 7 * Because of these promises let's cleanse ourselves. Receive us. We were
troubled on every side when we came to Macedonia. Godly sorrow
worketh repentance.
* 8 * I want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian
churches. Out of their trial & poverty they gave even beyond their
ability because they first gave themselves to the Lord. You should
abound in this grace also. Provide for things honestly in the sight
of the Lord and of men.
* 9 * He that sows sparingly will reap sparingly, he that soweth
bountifully will reap bountifully.
* 10 * Though we walk in the flesh, our warfare is not carnal. Do you look
at things from the outward appearance? I do not want to terrify you
by letters. He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
* 11 * I fear lest you be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Did I do wrong to abase myself so you could be exalted? Satan is
transformed into an angel of light. Seeing that many glory after
the flesh, I will glory also.
* 12 * It is not expedient for me to glory. I knew a man caught up into the
3rd heaven. A thorn in the flesh was given me lest I be exalted.
Christ's strength is make perfect in weakness. I am ready to come
you for the third time. I will not be burdensome to you.
* 13 * Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith.
