The New Testament Book of Colossians

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonising one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Colossians 3:16-17 KJV

* CHAP * COMMENTS

* 1 * Paul & Timothy to the saints & faithful brethren of Colosse. We give thanks praying for you since we heard of your faith; your love to all the saints; the hope that is come unto you. Epaphras told us about your love in the spirit. We pray that ye may be filled with knowledge, that ye might walk worthy, being fruitful & increasing in knowledge. Redemption is in Christ who is the image of God. All things were created by & for Him. He is the head of the church, from the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have preeminence. All things are reconciled to God through Christ, including you, if you continue in the faith.
* 2 * For those who have not seen me, I want their hearts to be comforted that they might know the mystery of God & Christ. Don't let anyone beguile you. Walk in Christ as you have received him, for ye are complete in him. You are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands. Buried with Him in baptism. He blotted out ordinances against us and took it out of the way. Let no man judge you in meat, drink, or holy days. If you be dead to the rudiments of this world, why are you subject to its rules.
* 3 * If ye be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above not things on the earth. Mortify your members, for such things bring the wrath of God on the children of disobedience. But now put off these things and on others as the elect of God. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Instruction to wives, husbands, children fathers, and servants. Whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord.
* 4 * Masters be fair to your servants. Pray. Pray for us, that I may speak clearly the mystery of Christ. Redeem the time. Know how to answer every man. Tychicus and Onesimus will tell you about our state. Many with me greet you. Let this letter be read to the church of the Laodiceans and you read their letter.
